Director of Creative Design - Student Philanthropy

UCSB First Mission


The UCSB First mission is to foster a campus-wide culture of philanthropy. Our goal is to raise awareness with UCSB students about the importance of private giving, which makes our outstanding educational experience possible. We strive to inspire students to get involved with philanthropy now because collectively, we can make a difference.

Overview of Role:


As a member of the UCSB First Board of Directors, the Creative Director supports the Co-Chairs by managing UCSB First’s visual aesthetic and branding through design, photography, and videography. The Creative Director role leads the the creative team by providing direction and guidance to the subcommittee members, which includes the Head of Photography and Head of Videography. This role works closely with the Director of Public Relations to ensure that UCSB First is represented in the most positive and engaging light.

  2. Highly organized and timely

  3. Excellent Communication (both written & verbal) and Interpersonal Skills

  4. Self-motivated with Excellent Time Management Skills      

  5. Ability to work Collaboratively within a Team Environment and Lead a team of peers

  6. Skilled with a Camera.

  7. Experience with Graphic Design.


Responsibilities:

  • Professionally represent the Office of Development and UCSB

  • Be seen as an ambassador of a culture of giving with UCSB students; Actively educate Committee Members about the importance of philanthropy and the mission & goals of UCSB First

  • Maintain consistent branding for UCSB First’s materials  

  • Take pictures and videos of UCSB First events

  • Lead a sub-group of the UCSB First Committee, comprised of Head of Photography and Head of Videography

    • Facilitate weekly meetings with your team and the Co-Chairs to discuss ongoing campus and UCSB First events

    • Ensure that your team is prepared for the bi-weekly UCSB First Committee Meetings by following through on attendance, participation, and readiness

    • Communicate frequently with Co-Chairs to ensure alignment and support with overall plan
