Research Workshop Coordinator
Research Workshop Coordinator: Provides logistical and coordinative support to the organizers (UCSB faculty members) of the 2018 BisQue + Scalable Image Informatics Workshop. The workshop will take place on the UCSB campus on Feb. 5/6. In the weeks leading up to the event (~10 hrs/week), assists with setting up meeting site locations, coordinating event participants (responding to email inquiries, contacting speakers), and other administrative tasks assigned by the organizers. On the days of the event, must be available to be on-site for most of the day* to provide logistical support and general assistance.
Candidate should be self-directed and have their own computer (laptop preferred). Direction will be provided by the organizers, but a lot of the work will be performed independently without direct supervision. Good communication skills and ability to be proactive is essential. Experience with event planning is desirable.
*We can be flexible for times on Feb 5/6 when this coordinator has classes, but should be available when otherwise not in class on those two days.
