Facility Services Manager
UCBS Conference & Hospitality Services is now hiring for a summer Facility Services Manager position. Part time starting in March, then full time in the summer.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with co-FSM, hire, train, schedule, and supervise a staff of 7-10 Facility Services Operators
- Physical set up for summer conferences, setting up and taking down of all events at the Loma Pelona Center, moving equipment and furniture, providing a daily courier service, operating A/V equipment, driving an SUV and and 8 passenger van, problem solving
- Providing excellent customer service
- Administrative work, including scheduling FSO shifts, reviewing event reports, replying to emails, etc.
- Preparing for and attending weekly summer meetings to review the upcoming conferences
- Serving on call (phone) to respond to questions, issues, emergencies, etc.
Salary and Dates

$14.00/hour

Room & board provided mid-June through mid-September
- Part time first week of March through mid-June (Manager training and summer prep
- Full time in summer
- Must be able to work the entire summer and participate in a mandatory training week June 18-24
- Some evening and weekend work required, including staff meetings every third Wednesday from 7:00pm-8:00pm in the summer
Other Details
- Must have a valid US driver license
- Must be a UCSB student. You still qualify if you graduate Spring 2018/
- Fingerprinting, background check, and University conduct check required upon hire
- Applicants should be detail-oriented, highly professional, and able to multitask in a fast-paced guest services environment
- Hospitality and/or A/V experience a plus
