Journal Editorial Assistant

Provides assistance to ECE faculty member who is serving as editor-in-chief for a research/technical journal. Duties include: 1) Interfacing with journal submission website to assure paper submissions are handled/routed correctly to journal editors and associate editors; 2) Monitoring journal submission email address, routing questions to the editor-in-chief as needed; 3) Reviewing accepted paper criteria, and "dispatching" to the publisher; 4) Drafting correspondence on behalf of the editor-in-chief when a new editor is appointed; 5) Preparing powerpoint presentation slides for the editor-in-chief for bi-annual editorial board meeting. Strong computer skills and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required. Ability/willingness to work remotely during holiday and summer breaks is desirable.
