Summer Crew/Facility Services Operator

We are looking for students who are interested in working in a fast-paced, exciting, customer service environment, interacting with an incredible variety of conference guests (youth leadership and sports campus, UCSB departmental conferences, academic and professional organizations, international groups, etc.). We bring in over 125 conferences and 20,000 guests in the summer, and every year we hear that one of the reasons our guests enjoying attending conferences here is that they love the interactions they have with our student staff!

Crew, which is made up of our summer Facility Services Operators, is responsible for setting up for events and check ins, breaking down after events, operating audio/visual equipment, providing courier service to all summer front desks, driving an 8 passenger van, problem solving, completing inventory, etc.

  • Starts at $12.00/hr
  • Part-time (days/evenings/nights/weekends)
  • Must be available to work mid-June through early September (approx. Labor Day Weekend)
  • Potential to start in the middle of spring quarter and potential for academic year employment if summer goes well
  • Must be able to participate in a mandatory training week June 17-21 (~40 hours of training) and must be available to work opening weekend (June 22-23)
  • Mandatory Crew summer staff meetings occur on a weekly basis at day/time determined by the Managers during training. FSOs should also be able to attend large staff meetings with the other summer staffs every third Wednesday from 7:00pm-8:00pm.
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend shifts
  • Must be detail-oriented, friendly, responsible, and able to maintain professional standards as part of a customer service team
  • Must have a valid US driver license
  • Must be able to move and set up tables, tents, chairs, etc.
  • Must be a UCSB student. You still qualify if you graduate Spring 2019
  • Fingerprinting, background check, and University conduct check required upon hire
