Grafitti Abatement Specialist | Isla Vista Recreation & Park District

The program consists of a sole individual who does the manual labor of removing graffiti, documenting incidents, and finally communicate with local law enforcement, private home owners, and local businesses. The Graffiti Abatement Specialist oversees the entire Isla Vista geographic area with assistance of IVRPD staff, in order to report and remove incidents within 48 hours of their occurrence. The Specialist is able to remove all cases of graffiti in the Isla Vista area, particularly those located on public property, electrical/utility boxes, Marborg Property, park property, and property in the public right of way (approximately 8 feet from the curb). Patrol the streets and parks of Isla Vista for graffiti and similar forms of vandalism.

Photograph, record, and remove graffiti

Contact private property owners, local businesses, and county offices in regards to graffiti on their property.

Maintain and update graffiti log on a regular basis

Must be able to bike for extended periods of time throughout Isla Vista

Must be able to lift and carry five-gallon buckets of paint
