AS Events Student Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Under the supervision of the Cashiers Coordinator and the Student Cashiers Manager, this position coordinates ticket sales for on-campus events. Schedules Student Cashiers on-campus events. Makes sure information about events is communicated to Student Cashiers Manager and student staff. Majority of hours worked will be in the capacity of a Student Cashier with event management as a secondary part of this position. Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES* 

* Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. 

* Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards or automatic debits. 

* Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. 

* Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas. 

* Identify prices of goods, services or admission and tabulate sales using POS and ticketing system. 

* Resolve customer complaints. 

* Answer customer’s questions, and provide information on procedures or policies. 

* Accept Office of Student Life Organization's Deposits from customers. 

* Calculate total payments received during a shift and reconcile this with Sales Summary Report. 

* Process phone orders and set aside tickets to fill order. 

* Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins. 

* Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items. 

* Be knowledgeable of the various ticketing plans offered by Intercollegiate Athletics, as well as G Kids, the Gaucho Fund, parking information, priority points, season tickets and other department marketing initiatives.     

* Handles daily reconciliation of advance ticket sales. 

* Processes the final settlement for advanced ticket sales. 

* Keeps track of events calendar and scheduling On-Site Ticket Sellers. 

* Works any events for which a Ticket Seller is not scheduled. 

* Updates “Ticket Office Summary” database of event sales, and maintains files of event paperwork. 

* Represents AS Ticket Office at the Campus Activities Center’s quarterly orientation meetings for student organizations planning movies or other events. Explains role of Ticket Seller at these events to student organization representatives.

Must be available to work at least one event over the Holiday Winter Break and monthly nights and most weekends. Applicants moving forward will be contacted via email.

Cover Letter and Resume optional. Please include a copy of GOLD class schedule for Winter and Spring Quarters. Summer availability is a plus. for training for this position.

Hours Per Week: 3.0-18.0 hrs (Averages 15 per week)
Location: AS Cashiers & Ticket Office
Wage: $12.25 p/hr
