Assistant Animal Technician

The Asst. Animal Technician (AAT) position is an excellent learning environment for career choices in biology, zoology, biochemistry, psychology/cognitive behavior careers. AATs are responsible for the care and observation of cats staying in the private hotel/kennel for daily up to months-long care, with 35-70 cats on site daily; Tech. may interact with cat parents, local veterinarians and definitely Manager and each other in a data-driven, team environment.  AATs document cat observations, evaluate any deviations from the norm and hypothesize as to why and what interventions may be required.  Conversations with the community parents, veterinarian professionals and acute care vet facilities are sometimes needed.  Many cat parents are out of the country, all requiring excellent communication skills, professional scientific detail, specificity and anecdotal evidence for ancillary care.  Technicians participate over time in the cleaning, feeding grooming, medicating the cats and maintaining daily hygiene of the private hotel.  Cats with diabetes and other "special needs" are frequent visitors.  In business since 8.1.2000, open 7 days.  Must commit to Holiday schedules where compensation is 1.5-2 times hourly rate.
