Bicycle Mechanic

Serving the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of UCSB since 1974, the Associated Students Bike Shop is a student-funded non-profit organization dedicated to education, service, and safety. We are looking for bike mechanics who are enthusiastic about bikes, good team players and can provide quick and efficient customer service to join our team and uphold our same morals. We are one of the busiest bike shops in California, so we are looking for employees that are able to work autonomously and well under the pressure.

The responsibilities of our bike mechanics are to attend to customers, diagnose bikes and complete repairs in a timely manner. Along with these primary duties, mechanics will be responsible for maintaining a clean workspace and teaching bike maintenance to members of the community.

Required skills:
-Enthusiasm about bikes and working with tools
-Effective communication skills
-Willingness to learn
-Autonomous
-Reliable and punctual
-Strong team player
-Able to lift about 30lbs repetitively throughout the shift
-Ability to work with or develop shop programing.
-Able to work with and understand Covid restrictions.
